Level 5 is split into two eighteen-week courses - Part A and Part B. You need to finish part A before you start part B.

Building on the foundations of Level 1-4, candidates in level 5 can read Chinese newspapers and magazines, enjoy Chinese film and television programs, and give more complete speeches in Chinese.

Level Five is a 20-week course.

Students will learn:

2500 vocabulary words (including 1200 from Level 1-4).
Chinese philosophy of life, social issues, historical geography, art and sports, etc. and how to discuss and write about each topic.
Several phrases in each lesson like verb-object, measurement word-noun as well as parts of the human body, etc.
36 Synonyms discrimination like “如何-怎么”.

A minimum score of 60% in the final exam is required to pass to the next level.
Students completing this course will be prepared to take the HSK 5 exam.
Level 5 equals C1 of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment).

COURSE PAYMENT AND REFUNDS
1. Payment is required in full before the start of the course.
2. Methods of payment
Payment is by credit card (online).
3. Cancellation and refund policy
You can cancel your course, but the refund policy is as follows:
a. Up to one week before the start of the course - full refund.
b. Within one week of the start of the course - a full refund with 100NIS charged for registration and administration.
c. Within the two weeks of the start of the course - a 40% refund of the full cost.
d. After two weeks of the start of the course - NO refund.

PERSONAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
East-West Cultural Center will hold students' personal information, given at the time of registration, for administration purposes.
East-West Cultural Center staff will communicate with students by email and phone (message services). This will include class materials and administration matters.

BEHAVIOR AND CONDUCT
Students are expected to abide by the following：
1. Behave respectfully toward teachers and other students.
2. Attend classes regularly and arrive to class on time. A minimum attendance of 70% is required for a completion certificate.
3. Participate in class activities and follow the teacher's instructions.
4. Complete assignments as required.
5. Audio and video recordings in class are prohibited (this includes online classes).
6. All class materials are copyright East-West Cultural Center and cannot be copied or distributed without permission.

MATERIALS AND ONLINE CLASSES
1. Online classes will require the use of specific apps and software. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure they have what is needed.
2. East-West Cultural Center is not liable for missed classes due to problems with students' personal computers, software, or internet connections.
3. It is the students' responsibility to purchase any required textbooks or workbooks.
